John R. Alden

<p><strong>John R. Alden&nbsp;</strong>(1908&ndash;1991) was a Duke University professor, an authority on the American Revolution, and an established historian. In addition to authoring eleven books, he was awarded the Beveridge Prize of American Historical Association in 1945 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1955.</p>
