Dominique Smith

Dominique Smith, EdD, ischief of educational servicesand teacher support atHealth Sciences High andMiddle College in San Diego,California. Smith is passionateabout creating schoolenvironments that honorand empower students. Hisresearch and instruction focus on restorative practices, classroommanagement, growthmindset, and the culture ofachievement. Dominique alsoprovides professional learning to K-12 teachers in smalland large groups that addressclassroom and school climate and organization. He holds a doctorate ineducational leadership from San Diego State University with an emphasison equity as well as a master’s degree in social work from the Universityof Southern California. Dominique also holds credentials from San DiegoState University in administrative services, child welfare, PPS, and attendance. Smith has been recognized with the National School Safety Awardfrom the School Safety Advocacy Council. In 2018, he delivered a TED Talk on building relationships between students and teachers.
